DSFG MS Bike to the Bay

DSFG announced a Winner of a Team Tent at the finish line and pictured here.

Ray Bree, President of Diamond State Financial Group and Team Captain, put together a team for a second year for the 2009 MS Bike to the Bay. Members of the team which included friends and family took on the challenge of a 75-mile cycling ride from Dover to Rehoboth Beach.

DSFG also had a large contingent of volunteers that assisted with bike transportation and moral support. Several fundraising events were held leading up to the event. The DSFG Professional Staff put together a pizza and ice cream fundraiser. Invitations were extended to neighbors at the Christiana Executive campus. Over $500 was raised and many friends were made along the way. There was also a “Mixer” held at the Iron Hill Brewery on the Riverfront where clients, friends, and family members gathered together to help raise funds for this worthy cause.

Securian, Sun Life, and The Standard supported Team DSFG by covering the cost of the Diamond State bike jerseys. The support from local businesses was overwhelming. And without the support from our contributors, none of this would have been possible.

By working together, everyone achieved more! When someone shares with you that they have MS and personally thanks you for your support, it is a very personal moment that you don’t forget. Several DSFG volunteers were fortunate enough to experience this moment.

Team DSFG has now raised nearly $19,000 to help the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation provide research, education, programs and services for more than 400,000 Americans living with Multiple Sclerosis.
