Joshua Shaver CFP®, ChFC®, RICP®, CBEC®
Joshua Shaver is a Managing Partner and Wealth Manager at Diamond State Financial Group. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Lerner College of Business and Economics at University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. Josh holds his Series 7, Series 66, and Series 24 registrations, as well as his Life, Health and Ethics Insurance licenses. He has also earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) designations. Josh is a Registered Representative and Investment Advisor Representative of Securian Financial Services, Inc.
At the University of Delaware, Josh was involved with the Financial Managers Association, as well as a part of its Honor Society. He still is greatly involved with the University, serving on 2 advisory boards and frequently speaking to classes about the Financial Services industry. Since joining Diamond State Financial Group in 2007, Josh has worked primarily with business owners and clients nearing retirement, helping them secure their financial future. As a Managing Partner, he trains and mentors advisors in the early stages of their career and is responsible for the Firm’s Recruiting of new advisors. His favorite part about his role is his ability to be an educator and resource – whether it be to clients, advisors at the firm, or others that he works with in business.
Josh has been recognized as Securian’s Silver Field Director of the Year in 2012 and 2013, Securian’s Diamond Field Director of the Year in 2014 and 2016, and Securian’s Gold Field Director of the Year in 2015 for unit leadership and commitment to excellence.
Josh is an active member in his community in numerous non-profit roles. He enjoys volunteering in charitable organizations, having been involved at the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware, MS Society’s Bike to the Bay, and the Nemours Fund for Children’s Health at Nemours/AI Dupont Hospital for Children. Most currently, he has volunteered with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of DE, proudly winning Northern Delaware’s Man of the Year Award in 2020 and continuing to serve on the Leadership Committee. A native Delawarean, Josh now resides in Newark with his wife Jessica, sons Henry and Bennett, American Bulldog Samson, and Jack Russell Ellie. His hobbies include time with his wife and boys, traveling whenever possible, Philadelphia sports, wine and craft beer, time at the beach on the pontoon boat, and enjoying good food with friends.
